Our Story
Lil Spectacles began with a pair of tiny glasses and a little girl who wasn't sure she wanted to wear them.
When my daughter was three, her eye doctor told us she needed glasses. She looked for herself in her books, her shows, the characters she colored and she didn't find her. None of them looked like her.
I went searching for a coloring book that did, but I couldn't find one.
So I made it.
What started as one mom trying to help one little girl feel proud has grown into Lil Spectacles, a collection of coloring books celebrating kids who wear glasses, eye patches, and use mobility aids. These are children who are too rarely the main character but deeply deserve to be.
Every page is drawn so a child can look down and think, "That one looks like me." Because when a child sees themselves as the hero of the story, something shifts. They sit a little taller. They wear their glasses a little prouder.
That is the whole heart of Lil Spectacles: helping every child feel confident, creative, and beautifully seen exactly as they are.
Thank you for being here. I'm so glad your family found us.
With love,
Mary, Founder of Lil Spectacles
